Dr. Nina Maouelainin, originally from Morocco, began her medical career in France then pursued her dream of becoming a physician in the USA. After completing her Biochemistry Degree at Juniata College, she continued her medical training at Crozer-Chester Medical Center after graduating from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005. In 2008, she began a three-year fellowship in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine at Drexel University – Hahnemann University Hospital.
She initially focused on Cystic Fibrosis then met phenomenal mentors that lead one of the first accredited interventional pulmonology fellowships. The latter was established at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia and was created at a time when interventional pulmonology was in its infancy even at the world’s most advanced tertiary care centers. After completing the fellowship in 2011, Dr. Maouelainin established the first successfully run private interventional pulmonology programs in Pennsylvania, drawing upon her extensive training in the field and program leadership experience.
Today, she is the CEO and president of Lung Health Solutions. In this role, she oversees the day-to-day and big picture operational needs of providing state-of-the-art care to lung cancer patients in the Greater Philadelphia region. Lung Health Solutions | Interventional Pulmonology Services focuses on minimally invasive techniques and procedures that make it possible to diagnose lung cancer and other chronic lung conditions in patients early, setting them up for prompt, aggressive treatment that yields positive results.
